| Some Useful Library Functions |
|
|
This chapter contains descriptions of some functions in the Tcl library that aren't, strictly speaking, necessary but can make your work easier. Covering all the functions of the Tcl library would make this chapter boring and it is not attempted. In any case, the on-line manual is always your best source of up-to-date information about library functions. If Tcl can do something, there is almost certainly a library function that helps with the task. So, if you cannot find sufficient help here or in the "Tcl C Library" index do have a look in your on-line manual. Except for the first section, the functions described in this chapter are available in all recent versions of Tcl. C functions are described under the same assumptions as in the previous chapter.
